This is a bio stub, not a graded Empire FGA profile. There is no video evidence behind this page — no
OBI/SII, no core-12 sub-metrics, no ultProxy. Every field below comes from a single secondary source: the
PC Fútbol — Base de Datos Apertura 97 player database (Dinamic Multimedia, 1997 copyright). Facts
(dates, heights) are reproduced directly since facts aren't copyrightable. The database's own scouting
prose has been paraphrased, not quoted, to respect its copyright.
Inclusion note — weaker evidence than most stubs on this platform. Islas's own PC Fútbol document
has a completely blank TRAYECTORIA table: zero recorded senior matches anywhere, including at Boca. His
own document never states outright that he was on Boca's roster during Clausura '97 specifically. The
basis for including him here is a single line in Juan Román Riquelme's own PC Fútbol document:
"Boca decidió apostar al futuro y compró los pases de varios jovenes de las inferiores de Argentinos.
Entre ellos Riquelme, César LaPaglia, Pablo Islas y Lucas Gatti" — naming him as one of four Argentinos
Juniors youth products Boca bought together, the same cohort as César LaPaglia (already on this platform
as a zero-appearance Clausura '97 Boca reserve). He is treated identically to LaPaglia: a genuine squad
member who logged no senior minutes that season. If a second source turns up that contradicts this, this
page should be corrected or removed.
Part of a 16-PDF batch Jim labeled "some Boca players missed." On inspection, only 3 of the 16 turned out
to be genuine Clausura '97 Boca Juniors squad members: Juan Román Riquelme and Sergio "Manteca" Martínez
(both skipped here — they already have full, video-graded Empire FGA profiles elsewhere on the platform,
and adding raw bio-stub records for them into the Master Index would have shown null composite scores for
two players who are actually fully graded) and Pablo Islas (this page). The other 13 — Bermúdez, Cagna,
Caniggia, Castillo, Florentín, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Gustavo Barros Schelotto, Lanari, Luis
Hernández, Muñoz, Córdoba, Palermo, Solano — were all incoming Apertura '97 signings whose own trajectory
tables place them at other clubs (or, for Caniggia, at no club at all) during Clausura '97, not at Boca.
They were excluded from this batch at Jim's direction.
Profile
A left winger capable of dropping into an enganche or attacking-midfield role. The source
credits him with real talent — a powerful shot, good vision, and precise passing — plus the pace to beat
defenders one-on-one. It also flags two clear weaknesses for a player his age: excessive individualism and
inexperience, both cited as the main obstacles to breaking into Boca's first team.
Career to date (as of mid-1997)
Came through Argentinos Juniors' youth ranks. Boca bought his pass in 1996 along with three
other Argentinos Juniors academy products — Juan Román Riquelme, César LaPaglia and Lucas Gatti — betting on
the group's future rather than immediate first-team need. Unlike Riquelme, Islas had not broken into senior
football by the time of this database snapshot: no professional matches are recorded for him anywhere,
including at Boca.
Trajectory (PC Fútbol database)
The source's own TRAYECTORIA table for Islas is entirely blank — no club, division, match
or goal figures of any kind are listed. No Clausura '97 row exists in his own document; his presence in
Boca's Clausura '97 squad rests solely on the cross-reference in Riquelme's document described above.

rests on weaker evidence than a typical stub on this platform (see inclusion note above).
